#Mullaperiyar dam facing imminent destruction

A dam built 116 years back when structural engineering was not developed to the level we have today cannot be expected to last for ever.This every one who can think without any bias can easily understand.

Tamil Nadu is getting water from this dam for a very little cost for years together from Kerala.They use it for irrigation and for producing Electricity through Hydro Electric power station which is the cheapest method of producing Electricity.Tamil Nadu politicians are simply not bothered about weak structure of Mullaperiyar dam which has outlived its existence nearly 60 years back.

What if the dam collapses?Water stored in dam will flow to down stream Kerala at very high speed damaging property on banks of river Periyar and killing all living beings on its path.It is estimated that nearly 30 lakh Keralites will die within very little time as the water breaking out from the dam will run down very fast damaging every thing on its way.

Engineer who built this dam 116 years back has predicted that it will last safely for 50 years.So for the balance years it is remaining in tact as a miracle.Such miracles do not go on for ever.Already cracks are developed on the storage walls of dam.Bonding used for building old Mullaperiyar dam is only lime.Both laterite and lime get deteriorated over a period of time and now it is at the most precarious condition.

A catastrophe can happen any moment killing millions of Keralites and Tamil Nadu which now enjoys cheap power and water for irrigation from Mullaperiyar can possibly watch death of millions of Keralites and their source of cheap power and water for irrigation can end for ever without any Malayalee doing anything.

So an alternate modern dam at the down stream of present Mullaperiyar dam is essential to save lives and property of Keralites and to ensure continuous supply of water to Tamil Nadu.

While the dam is facing imminent destruction Tamil Nadu politicians are demanding loudly to raise water level in the dam to speed up destruction of the dam!Why should they shut their eyes and ears to reality? I simply cannot understand this.

Kerala Govt,Kerala politicians and People in general in Kerala are not aware of the death threat on nearly half of its population.Politicians are simply conducting all party meetings,pilgrimage To Delhi to chit chat with rulers there and waiting patiently for ever for court verdicts on cases going on in the matter for decades.

But an Engineering structure having outlived its date of safe existence will not wait for permission from Governments,courts to break down and cause havoc unheard of or unimagined by any one ever.An earth quake of even minor nature can push the destruction earlier.

Are we all waiting silently for the largest, deadliest catastrophe ever faced by Kerala and India coolly? Will at least ordinary people of Kerala rise up and force these non moving rulers to act fast and ensure that an alternate latest technology dam replaces Mullaperiyar dam fast? Will they force rulers to take whatever precautions ,safeguards to avoid danger while the new dam work is in progress? I have practically no hope and I wait for the death threat like some one sentenced to death!

#Pranayam-an asset to Malayalam film

When I saw the posters of two old men chatting with a middle aged lady with Pranayam written in a circle style,all I could guess about the film were these:

1.It must be a story of old style Pranayam of these old style people.So,not worth watching

2.Mohan lal has done many remarkable films.But his recent films have him as Mohan Lal with very little to act but to do sort of posture to present himself as simply a super star.All his super star glories are good for him and actors who live in awe of him.Why a commoner like me go and see his super start”jada” paying ticket charges?

So naturally I was not keen on watching the film even though name of Blessy prompted me to try the film.

Pranayam in the old concept was practically foolish with neither of the partners bothering enough to know each other before tying the knot.So after marriage,when reality stares at them with heat of life burning them differences crop up.A divorce and another marriage,two children in each marriage.Blessy tells all these story mile stones without bothering to convince us on why and what.

Then suddenly after 40 years all actors in the drama meet together and they act together a new drama.Pain of a mother when she finds that her son hate her too much,pain of the first lover when he knows that another man loves and claims his original love as precious in spite of understanding her previous life alien to him,all these are well picturised.

But the story has more lively scenes than that boring scene shown by posters.If only promoters of the film made people aware that this is not a boring film as is made out? But who cares for marketing of film? This film for the first time made me cry.Credit goes to both Anupam Kher and Jayapradha who lived as characters along with Director Blessy.Mohan Lal could not be that impressive and I could notice the superstar showing up disturbing mind of viewer off and on.

A film definitely worth watching and cannot be missed.Malayalam film industry can be proud of this film,# pranayam even though the film is more about relationships than about pranayam

After fasting by Anna Hazare

Fast of Anna came to an end after 13 days with Anna drinking coconut water and honey offered by two kids less than 5 year old on hearing about a resolution by parliament agreeing to consider framing Lok Pal bill in line with demands made by Anna Hazare.

But this is only a small step forward.The same Rulers have agreed to bring Lok pal bill to control and prevent corruption to end earlier fast of Anna and they in turn brought up a "joke pal bill" just to fool Anna and other fools living in the country excluding those few hundreds of Parliamentarians who it seems have all wisdom of the country concentrated in.

Both ruling and opposition politicians of the country want to have their right to loot in tact.They do not mind talking pro people during elections and win it by hook or crook.

After winning elections they think they are free to do anything for five years.They say during that five years"Parliament is supreme "and people have no right or business to demand anything from them.People have to meekly accept whatever supreme parliament benevolently gives them even if it is a Joke pal bill which can do nothing to catch looters or punish them.They think 120 crores people are like babies who can be happy if you give them some toy to play with when they earnestly do their sacred duty of looting the country and safely keep money looted abroad.

I do not think that this mere resolution of Parliament with thumping of desk will get converted in to an effective Lok Pal bill to put behind bars those who looted country for lakhs of crores of rupees

One senior central minister from Kerala is reported to have told in a meeting that people are agitated against corruption because of bribe they have to pay while trying to get anything done from govt offices.Yes.no body is happy about it.But this huge price rise and struggling to live with money earned by legitimate normal jobs is not caused by small bribes in govt offices.It is the large scale looting by rulers of country which make people agitated and he simply forget to notice it.This shows how foolish they think people are!

Success of Anna should be starting point of greater changes needed including real implementation of Lok pal in it's true spirit and meaning.Govt will again try to fool us with another joke pal bill which is essential for them to continue looting.Unless we make it impossible to loot,these present set of looters will not leave their lucrative business of ruling us.As Anna said nearly 150 of present MPs are notorious criminals.These looters should go to Tihar jail and honest,young patriotic people will come to occupy the space left vacant by looters calling themselves as irreplaceable nethas of the country

I am born and brought up in Mumbai for last fifty eight years. Believe me, corruption in Maharashtra is worse than that in Bihar . Dear Mr Prime minister, you are one of the most intelligent person, a most learned person. Just wake up, be a real SARDAR. First and foremost, expose all selfish politicians. Ask Swiss banks to give names of all Indian account holders. Give reins of CBI to independent agency. Let them find wolves among us. There will be political upheaval, but that will be better than dance of death which we are witnessing every day. Just give us ambience where we can work honestly and without fear. Let there be rule of law. Everything else will be taken care of.

Choice is yours Mr. Prime Minister. Do you want to be lead by one person, or you want to lead the nation of 100 Crore people?

You have not even told where you intend to construct house.16 cents of land simply gives an idea on area of land.For a house to be planned I need to know how much road frontage plot has,where is the road,directions,terrain of land and much more

Plan of the house is specifically designed to suit your requirements,budget,site measurements and site conditions.Any plan made for house for any one will not simply suit you.Three bed room house in single story may have an area of about 1300 to 1500 sft with usual common facilities.Even with present cost of construction,it will not be possible to complete such a house within Rs.15 lakhs.The more you delay construction,more will be the cost

Wooden flooring is not costly compared to granite flooring.It is more environment friendly.You can comfortably sleep on the floor and walk without having to worry about negative effects of walking on artificial flooring material.But you will have to keep the floor neat without rubbing it with wet cloth.Wet cloth will damage wood in the long run

For obtaining Building permit/approved plan from local authority in Kerala,you have to submit application and submission drawings as per rules duly filled and counter signed by a Licensed Engineer/Architect/supervisor having registration of license with Dept. of Urban affairs,Kerala.State

A Ferro cement construction will be good.But right now in and around Cochin there is only one some what reliable company doing just Ferro cement septic tanks and under ground water tanks.Due to lack of competition,they are not much customer friendly to do custom built Ferro cement building parts

So option before you will be to do the construction of one extra room with solid block concrete bricks.

Chappa Kurish-a film worth seeing

Before this film,I have never heard about these two words together,Chappa Kurish.Though I have heard of Chappa meaning a seal and Kurish ,our good old cross separately.

I do not understand how this name Chappa Kurish relate to the film even after seeing this film.When I asked some one he said,Chappa Kurish means head or tails while tossing a coin.There was no coin tossing in this film.One reason I hesitated seeing this film was this not attractive or appealing name of the film.Then those big posters showing Vineeth Sreenivasan in filthy surroundings carrying a bucket.It also gave me an impression that the film is not worth seeing.Rima Kallingal was tweeting so emphatically saying that it is a film worth seeing.So I decided to try expecting a boring film.

But it was not boring at all and it is definitely a great change from our usual superstar films with oft repeated unbelievable stories.Yes.this film brings Malayalam films closer to picturising life in its reality.

Lead man in the film,Fahad had acted so well.Vineeth could only try to do well.But did not succeed to the extent of expectation.Remya Nambisan did not have much to act.Rima did well by not taking up that role (as she tweeted) even though offered this role.

Coming from construction industry I can say that no construction company send a lady executive acting as secretary to Chief of operations to village offices or to any other offices to get things done or bribe people.All these liaison works with govt offices are handled by separate agencies.COO or his secretary has to simply monitor these through phone calls.So that part is a technical error.

Hero telling heroine that he never promised to marry her and heroine thinking otherwise also lack credibility.Fight at the end after all damages done is highly exaggerated.No indication of family of heroine and her friends in spite of such damaging experiences in her life.That is surprising in the story line.

Camera work is noticeably good.I never ever thought that Malayalam films will deal with stories with touch and smell of realities of life. This film is a welcome change in that direction and a must see film in spite of it’s unattractive name.

Salt and Pepper-a welcome change in Malayalam film

Feeling inferiority complex is so common among all of us.But nobody has thought of making it theme of a film and film Salt and Pepper has done exactly that.
Lal has acted so well that not even once while watching the film I thought of it being actor Lal even though there is hardly any make up for him.Feeling of being inadequate and not up to the expectation level of others especially those whom you want to really impress to get in to the heart of that person is picturised so well by Lal through his acting.Swetha Menon did try well but could not reach up to that level of Lal.
Asif Ali and the female counter part also tried to express same feeling and Asif Ali did comparatively much better with his acting talents.
I do not know why that sub story with Vijayaraghavan and his failed love story is added.It does not serve any purpose and weakens credibility level of the film.Story of a cook hijacked from a house where Lal went for bride seeing can be passed off as an attempt to add humour even though it also lacks credibility.
Premikkumbol is the theme song of the film and the song is simply great with both Jayachandran And Neha singing so well.Voice of Neha while singing this song is almost heavenly and she sang so well making her entry in to film world real great.She has great future ahead in her singing career
Finally that presentation of Avial song at the end did not appear to be appropriate for me.It is just adding another program after completing the film and it protrudes out.I do not know why Neha is not included in that show.
Promotion for the film shows a caption-"Oru Dosa undikkiya katha".When I read it I thought that the film is not worth seeing.Why should I waste my time trying to see story of how Dosa is being made?.Again posters first appeared showed Swetha Menon and Lal with a land phone.That poster also did not persuade or encourage me to see the film.I saw the film only because of my twitter friends reccommendation and definitely not by marketing efforts for the fim.That clearly shows that marketing efforts for the film are not up to the level expected .
Oru Dosa Undakkiya Katha can be translated in two ways:
1.Story of making of Dosa
2.Story made by a Dosa
Probably the promotion people of film, might have meant the latter
While on Dosa,the old round Dosa is fast disappearing and is being replaced by so called Ghee Roast which is simply a fried Dosa.This is not as tasty and good for health like old small round Dosa.

There is a small restaurant between Thuravoor and Cherthala at a place called Ponnamveli by the side of National high way where you still can get old type dosa with old type chuttney.Name of the restaurant is Lakshmi.Whenever I pass through this place,I make it a point to have that dosa.I have seen many filmi folks frequenting that place which is quite crowded.Try this old style Dosa

First step is design of the house.For this I will prefer to visit your site and study site conditions.Even without site conditions plan of the house can be prepared.But for better results,I need to visualise your future house in the plot.For this a site visit will help a lot.

BUILDER ATTEMPTING TO CHEAT?

I am about to start constructing a home on 21 cents land. The builder I consulted let me know that car porch, sit out and balcony will be calculated as full built up area. I am not so convinced and would to get your opinion on it. Now my plan was to build a 2000 sq. feet home. He says as per his calculation it would come to around 2350 sq. ft. Is he trying to cheat me? First of all do not simply rely on whatever a builder says.Before starting construction of your house get a professional design from a qualified and experienced Architect

Once you have a professional design finalised you can also get a detailed Engineering Estimate from the Architect which will give you a fair idea on cost of construction expected.With these basic data you can negotiate with a builder for better terms with the assistance and guidance of the Architect

I visit your site Kerala architecture.com and I try to post a comment and I couldn't. That is why I am sending
this mail to you. I am Sajikumar working in Kuwait. I am going to purchase a seven cents house plot in panchayath
area TVM district. Total 25 house plots are included (almost 200 cents) in that land.This land is 150 meter far from MC road.
4 meter width road is connected to all plots. But I heard 8 meter width road and waste dumping area should required, if more
than 5 house plots in one land. Otherwise panchayath will not give sanction for build a house in that area. Is it right? please advice me?

Lack of awareness on House construction related matters make you think that some one qualified and experienced may be able to give cost indication with the information provided by you.House construction or extension is not that simple

In fact it will be very difficult to assess or estimate expenses that can be expected for a modification/extension work as defects in construction of the original building will be known only when we attempt to do extension work.

A site visit,preparation of drawings of existing and proposed modification and preparation of Engineering Estimate will give you some idea on expected cost.Basically you have to first decide whether the extension planned is essential.Get expert advice on feasibility and usefulness of extension you are thinking of.May be an expert can guide you better on this.If you feel that the extension work is essential and viable after consulting a professional,you should not delay the work.Tomorrow cost can only go up making your plans un reachable

I have visited this plot in an interior location away from Mala.There is no proper road reaching the plot even from a small panchayath road.About 30 cents of land with lot of Jathi trees reaching high yield condition.USA based Mr.Crotts has spent money and purchased this land about an year in the name of a school teacher staying nearby.For all practical purposes the local teacher is using and having land as his own.According to neighbour he will get about Rs.80,000/- per year from Jathi trees.
Mr.Crotts who spent for purchase of land has no legal right on the land as per records.So I advised him not to spent any more money in the land.Place is not ideal for use to put up a vacation house.Cutting down Jathi trees in plot for construction now will be foolishness

So I advised him to sell the property at higher market value prevailing if his local teacher associate is willing to co operate and hand over proceeds of sale to him

There is no need to chip off existing floor.You can use tile adhesive instead of cement sand mix(mortar) to fix tiles.It is better to use anti skid tiles with better strength,elegant colour and finish costing about Rs.70 per sft.Both NITCO and Johnson are manufacturing these tiles now.NITCO is calling it as Naturoc tiles

Story of Endosulphan

Endosulphan is one of the hundreds of pesticides used by farmers everywhere.Pesticides are basically sort of poison to kill weeds and pests sprayed regularly to crops of all nature.
Cardamom which is one among high profit yielding cash crops of high ranges of Kerala require heavy dosage of pesticides to grow as it is highly susceptible to pests and weeds.
I had a client at Nedumgandom for whom I designed and built a house near his cardamom plantations.At least once in a fortnight I used to visit the site during construction travelling by car from Cochin returning on same day.I could enjoy beauty of high ranges of Kerala moving through hair pin turns one after another.
Once when my client at Nedumgandom came to my office at Cochin for a visit,we gave him tea with cardamom in it.After taking a sip,he rushed to wash basin and spit out entire sip of tea.He was real angry.
“Why are you giving this poison for me to drink? If you do not know I know the amount of poison being sprayed to cardamom from beginning to end”
Similarly when I was doing a project at Kothanalloor where lot of pineapple are being cultivated,when I was about to buy pineapple my local client told me not to eat it.
”It is really dangerous.Amount of poison going in to it is too much.We will only sell it.We will never eat it”
All pesticides including endosulphan are dangerous.But without using these pesticides you cannot get crops in good quantity.If not endosulphan some other pesticide of equal poisonous content has to be used and will be used.
As Kerala has banned endosulphan ,farmers in high ranges and other places go to Tamil Nadu to buy it.They say no other pesticide is as effective as endosulphan especially for cardamom.
Trouble in the case of Kasargode has come because large scale planters there has sprayed endosulphan continuously all over the area where cashew crops are planted.People have used water mixed with endosulphan for drinking.So all problems have happened.Will any one ban poison simply because drinking it will cause death?Nobody is making any hue and cry about taking that company spraying endosulphan by air in Kasargode area to task.They might have managed these politicians well.
Endosulphan is a pesticide manufactured in a government company called Hindustan Insecticides Limited at Eloor,Cochin.No one working in the company handling endosulphan during production has reported any adverse effect during these years.So it is not the product but the way it is used is the problem creator.Nobody is bothered to enquire about it.Public sector HIL cannot do lobbying spending lots of money for the product.If the product was manufactured by private sector companies like Ambanis no body would have fought against the product.They would have managed it well.
Politicians and film stars want political and publicity mileage out of endosulphan.They are getting it enough.Incidentally I asked a politician friend why he is against endosulphan.He replied:”Every one opposes.So I also oppose it.If I support it I will be treated as a bad guy”
Unless a better and less poisonous product is developed instead of endosulphan,farmers will find ways to get the product for use.For them their rich cash crops are important.

Throw out corrupt politician looters

Anna Hazare has come forward to express strongly felt contempt of all non political people of India who forms 98% of helpless patriotic people of India

These looters looting our country without any fear of ever being caught and treating us common man as nothing worth considering should be thrown out of this country

They are never caught by laws of land .They loot lakhs of crores of rupees without ever being made to answer to any one for the loot.

Let people of India chase them out of endless comforts and privileges they enjoy and throw them out of this country.

I know nothing much will come out of these hunger strike by Hazare and candle lighting by people all over India.But young Indians who form more than 60% of Indian population has got fire building up in their bellies to throw away these looters of the country.Look at funny rules existing to protect their looting.Special sanction is required even to initiate cases against these privileged.When it comes to looting,enjoying sex using money power,these politicians help each other.They belong to a class.So they help each other to escape getting caught.All those ruling party/opposition labeling are for the eyes of us fools.They help each other by destroying evidences.

Look at stories of all scams right from Bofors.All of those guilty escaped.Even in the case of former Kerala Minister, now in Jail opposition camp when in power not even appealed against High court verdict acquitting him for want of evidences.Mr.V.S.Achuthanandan personally fought the case at Supreme Court and got him jail he deserves.

So this Hazare protest is just the beginning.Government agreed to forming a panel as demanded by Hazare simply to avoid adverse publicity pointing to their unabated looting due to elections impending in five states.Otherwise Hazare could have slept without food for days and finally begged rulers for a decent face saving escape route.

Let this fire kindled by Hazare wake up Indian people always suffering helplessly ,watching with disgust extra ordinary privileges and comforts enjoyed by the greatest looters of the country when petty thieves are beaten up in police lock ups and made to serve jail terms.In this country if you can loot in lakhs of crores,you can be the unquestioned ruler of the country!

Not like, Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.

While watching Cricket world cup final between India and Sree Lanka,I could not help noticing the fact that one man made all the difference and made the win possible

Dhoni was considered to be out of form not hitting well with bat in almost all matches before final even though he was quite good as Captain of the team taking right decisions at right time.

Sewag was expected to give initial push for Indian team by his capability to score high especially for such a critical game.He went out without scoring anything by facing very few balls.With all those capability,years of experience,determination,Sachin was expected to lead Indian batting in such a critical game especially after Sewag went fast without contributing anything.But he went out with a score of 18,leaving Indian win against Sree Lanka an almost impossibility.

Gambhir did well in in remaining at crease though with slow run rate and was tottering when he reached century looking more for his century than saving the game for India.In that hesitation finally he went out without scoring that century.Indian run rate was low and it needed herculean effort from some one to win the game for India.

Dhoni decided to promote himself in the batting order.He did not bother to leave the tough task of winning to Yuvraj with much better form.He took some time to settle loosing few balls without runs.But when Yuvraj was hesitant in striking at right time,Dhoni did all right strikes at the right time and magnificently led India to victory.He was not tensed or worried ,unable to act like all other 121 crores of Indians.He contained his tension,anxiety and acted appropriately at the right manner winning the world cup for India.It is a thrilling story of one man making all the difference.

Look at our Kerala Chief Minister Achuthanandan.He may be old at 86 years.But unlike all other corrupt looters calling themselves as politicians who consider any act by them whether womanising,looting public money without any restrictions,trying to be in politics simply for all vices you can imagine,he is the only man in Kerala politics with honesty and principles.

Even his own party leaders are dead against him.Those leaders are willing to co operate with opposition leaders to save them from any sort of punishment for looting ,killing or flesh hunting.They form an inner group of looters and vice doers helping each other with glee.

But VS stands out as one man army without any support against all odds and abuses from both sides of politics.Because of this he has become only admirable politician in Kerala by common man who do not belong to any of these looter gangs called political parties.

We need such persons with integrity in politics.But I doubt whether even a single person will come up from any of the political combinations willing to face any adversity for holding tight honesty and principles.VS can be considered as the last man of honesty and integrity in politics making a valiant one man fight against all adversity when politicians of all hue and cry try hard to destroy this one odd man out.I am sure these vultures will have the last laugh even though VS will fight as one man army till end.

Look at recent news in Kerala.When we talk of news it naturally boils down to Politics.People get interested in political news mainly because we common people still have a wrong impression that two opposing camps of politicians try hard to serve us, common people and each of these opposing groups and politicians would have made our life simply a bliss of comfort and happiness had it not been for the villainous actions of the opposing camp.

Some how people among us common people who normally do not get chance to pile up Swiss bank deposits,foreign investments,huge investment in real estate while pretending to be simple servants of people think that the side of politicians for whom we feel sympathetic and aligned are doing right things for us.But other group is trying hard to wreck their good deeds.Naturally we feel angry and irritated towards other side.Some times a few innocents among us even go for street fight and killings due to this extreme attachment to that political group to which one feel attached.

Behind the curtain look at what these rival groups and ever fighting each other people do.

When one leader of political party who achieved records by amassing wealth in all forms plenty became over confident and careless in dangling in sexual hobbies,accidently the news came to public view.At that time the opposing political group was in power.Naturally we fools thought that this man will be caught red handed and will be put behind bars.But look at what really happened.Behind the curtains away from views of idiots like you and me called common people opposing group in power did everything in its power and capability to destroy all evidence and judicial proceedings . Opposing political leader escaped unhurt and we common people were forced to believe that all that we heard against him are wrong and could not be proved in any court of law.So this “innocent” man is still laughing madly for continuing to get opportunity to “serve “common people.

Incidentally another disgraced politician was trying hard to some how get back into his “rightful” place to “serve “we common people even though his erstwhile autocratic ruler father made enough Gandhi picture papers to survive comfortably for generations.Finally his maneuvers are reaching success and we can hear his verbal insults and silently watch “without any proof” his efforts to do what politicians always do-amassing wealth.

When recently one of the close associates of the earlier story “great leader” had rubbed with him on wrong side we could hear from media how he did all that we naturally assumed him to do with help from every one that mattered in all forms of powerful positions.

One former Judge simply rubbished the case as” just a case involving women”(meaning women has no value in this society) and “involving a highly placed person”.On what basis this politician is highly placed? Is it due to wealth illegally acquired by him like all other politicians?Is it due to help and assistance for cover up of his misdeeds received from every politician , officials and even people involved with judicial process?If that is so what will we call almost vanishing tribe of rare species called honest human beings who cannot be purchased,bribed or influenced?May be we can call them fools unfit for living in this earth?

Lot of people have a mistaken notion that Elevation of the house is something independent of Plan of the house.If you need a good Elevation ,Architect who prepare plan of the house will have to prepare plan of the house in a manner by which a good Elevation is possible.

Having finalised plan of the house and construction reaching lintel level,there are of course constraints in designing a better Elevation.With a site visit I can study the matter,comment on work so far done,check Vasthu compliance and suggest changes that can improve on external appearance of the building.You will have to send me plan of the house before site visit so that I can come prepared during site visit

There are people in Kerala who buy old houses with lot of traditional wood work,knock it down and recreate it anywhere.Even though they buy at lower cost,they charge very high.

So It will be better to do the work using new material keeping all good features of traditional Kerala work.If interested we can work out details.

Loading unloading menace in Kerala

Recently Mr.Kochouseph Chittilappilly of V Guard who is perhaps the only successful entrepreneur in Kerala who made it from rags to riches mainly operating in Kerala has shown courage to get in side a truck to unload materials to his godown.All TV channels and newspapers carried the story.

But this menace of loading unloading goondaism is silently suffered by helpless people of Kerala for years together.There are people sitting in almost all junctions of even villages in Kerala chit chatting sometimes wearing a particular colour shirt calling themselves as loading unloading people.They are the most lazy people who are protected by political parties in Kerala to do very little work and demand and threaten helpless unorganized people to pay them whatever they demand naturally very high amounts in comparison to what they do.

There are workers employed by commercial establishments,manufacturing units to carry out normal work.But if some material will have to be loaded or unloaded to a vehicle these workers working in that commercial activity unit cannot or should not do such loading or unloading.That particular portion of work is the birth right of those uniformed people simply chit chatting in junctions.Even if the skilled workers in the unit of production/trade do the loading/unloading due to extra care required or easiness of operation ,these bunch of lazy people will have to be paid whatever they demand, however high or unreasonable their demand.Such money extracted forcefully is given a name in Kerala called,”Nokku Kooly”(meaning wages for watching the work).Sometimes they collect exorbitant money even without watching!

Like others I also pay such unreasonable money to these people wherever we construct houses in Kerala.In southern areas like Ranny,Chengannur these people are some how absent .In Alleppey district of Kerala they create havoc and ensure that no economic activity survives for long.They would prefer no business,no manufacturing or construction rather than scale down their unreasonable demands.Funniest part of the story is that almost all political leaders in Kerala declare quite often that there is no Nokku kooly in Kerala!Even in cases where they really do the loading unloading there is in fact no need for their services as workers paid for the day must be working in that establishment and they can do the work as part of their work without demanding such exorbitant wages.

Once I asked one of these chaps why they are collecting Nokku Kooly when their leaders are saying that no Nokku kooly should be collected.He replied like this-“Those leaders loot in crores and they never give us even a share of that.Then what right they have for telling us not to collect Nokku Kooly?”

Mr.Chittilappilly has at least made an attempt to raise his voice against this injustice done to people of Kerala by organized goondas protected by political parties.But people like you and me are not willing to raise our voice against such barbarian injustice done to us by these lazy fellows who do not want to work like others and earn money by threatening ,protected by politicians of Kerala

Now my question, the house is total of 2200 sq. ft. The constructor has given us a rate of 275 /sq. ft. for labor with us providing the material and him building the structure. There are rates of 180 to 200 /Sq. Ft. in Kalady area for structure building on flat land. This rate is so as there is work in the foundation part.

I am not sure if this rate is too high or if we are being taken for a ride in this case. I kindly request you to provide me with your valuable input.

For a three story building construction you should not simply leave the work to be done as he pleases to a mere contractor.There has to be a professional Engineer to design structure work.
When you build a three storey building it will have to be a column beam construction if the soil is stable.If the soil is not stable,you may even require concrete piling.
Nature of foundation,column , beam and roof steel reinforcements will have to be properly designed by a Structural Engineer and before concreting it has to be ensured that the contractor has done steel work as per drawing and as per instructions of the Engineer.
Any contractor taking up work on square feet basis without involvement of a professional Engineer will try to do the work with as little labour input as possible.You may not be knowing about right practices of construction and he will make you believe that whatever he does is the right way of doing.

In any case it will not be good if you do the filling before doing foundation work.Land filling and leveling can be done after completing foundation work for the building
Labour rate of 200 per sft is more reasonable for the type of work you are talking about.If you tell the contractor that he will have to do the work as per drawings and instructions of an Engineer,he may not be willing to do the work even at Rs.275.
Every non professional contractor wants to make more profit .Proper Engineering standards and correct construction practices will increase his labour cost and he will talk and convince you that it is not required
When you build ,you should have professional guidance from beginning to end.No Engineer can rectify or suggest ways to correct mistakes done during construction, after the work.

1.Manufactured sand is better than river sand if made to correct size.It can be used for concrete and brick work.River sand available in Kerala in many places have many impurities in it which may be harmful in the long run for the building.For plastering you may have to use river sand with appropriate size.

2.It will be better if I can visit your site to study site conditions,Vasthu aspects etc.If you send me the plot sketch I can tell Vasthu aspects related and applicable to the plot

3.After studying site conditions,soil nature and architectural design for the house,a structural consultant will suggest appropriate foundation design for your house.Type of foundation cannot simply be selected or decided by you.Leave such decisions to the experts..

An architect or professional experienced in design and construction of house need not necessarily work only for large houses with high budget.

I have designed and built houses with plinth area as low as 300 sft to 6000 sft.Most of the people with lower budget some how has a wrong impression that it is not worth taking professional guidance and assistance for designing and building their house.It is due to this reluctance of clients with lower strata of funds that Architects tend to do more of high budget houses.

We can only work work for those who approach us and cannot go in search of those who think that we are costly and avoid us.Charges for professional services naturally will be less for low budget houses and hence more and more people should come forward to have professional services for design and construction of their houses.

It will be better to leave finding out ways and means of reducing cost to the professional rather than you own your own decide what all you should do to reduce cost of construction.Your part knowledge and wrong impressions may land you in trouble without professional guidance and assistance.You can always tell frankly to your Architect about your funds availability so that he can work out a house for you within your funds restrictions, if any.

Traffic-Malayalam movie with a difference

I cannot say that “traffic” recently released Malayalam film without those arrogant irritating presence of superstars who care a damn about value of art and giving respect to those who deserve it,is great.

There are so many imperfections even in the story line.But still that film gave me a hope that Malayalam film industry will survive and grow if only those super stars can be shown the door to leave this form of art.They do not care for the future of this form of art which can act as an entertainer,thought generator and reformer of common man.All they want is that Malayalam film goers should only see their foolish films which have only one story with different names.

There is a limit to which film enthusiasts in Kerala can be continuously fooled by meaningless films without any proper story or difference.

A story is one which has something different,special, interesting to hear.Most of the films in Malayalam which simply drains pockets of producer fools of those films ,simply do not have a story.

Some songs in regular intervals which of late has more of music and less of even meaningful verses come one after another.Viewer of the film has to believe that unhealthy looking super star will demolish simply by waving of his hand any number of able bodied men! Then those old men in their sixties will do some gimmicks in the name of love with teen aged girls.Finally that superman will destroy all “evil men “single handedly and make a roar of triumph!

This same story line we have been seeing and finally after getting irritated ,Keralites have started boycotting these endless films coming one after another.In this scenario, film “Traffic” is different and it prompts viewer to sit with interest and eagerness in the theatre chair instead of getting bored by antics of actors like Suraj Venjaranmood which can only produce contempt instead of expected laugher.

I only hope that success of this film will lead to such films or better films with credible story line,believable performance by actors and sensible presentation of story.

Even in this film there was an unnecessary song as if song is essential for films.Normally people who watch Malayalam films relax and talk with those who sit with them during those rest time given by these unwanted songs.But in “traffic “this unwanted song was in the beginning disturbing mind of the viewer and make him wonder whether this is one of those foolish films to be proven otherwise ,after escaping that song.

Generally film viewers make their first impression on film and decide whether to see the film or not by observing posters of the film which gave them some inkling on the content of film.The posters of this film ,traffic was designed by a fool capable of driving away any one who may consider going for the film.Luckily the film will get word of mouth reputation and will attract more viewers in spite of the poor posters.

End of a cruel selfish politician

I still remember with terror that day in 1977 when I met two Engineering college students transferred to Trichur Engineering college from Calicut REC.They were sons of a rich business man in Trichur.Those were days of Indira Gandhi ruling India like a dictator with entire opposition leaders in jail.Son of that business man from Trichur escaped from police custody after paying heavily to one man ruling Kerala as a terror, being close to Indira Gandhi.

Poor Rajan, an Engineering student of Calicut Regional Engineering College was killed without any reason.Till today even after thirty years no body is taken to task for brutal killing of that student ,only hope of a poor family of Eachara Varrier.

The man who authorized and ordered such brutal killings of innocent people travelled in very high speed on the road unmindful about people knocked down or cyclists pushed to ground by lathees of police men travelling ahead in pilot vehicles for clearing the way of mighty ruler of Kerala!.He thought of himself as one of those prehistoric Kings who did anything for his sadistic pleasures unmindful of the agony created by his actions to poor people of the country, less privileged.He simply forgotten about being democratically elected ruler”for the people by the people”

He considered himself as King of Kerala and did everything to make entire people of Kerala his strongest haters except of course few to whom he gave ways and means to do anything.They enjoyed and flourished under him and praised and bowed before him making him feel like being those old Kings.

There were allegations after allegations against him.Entire left parties of Kerala owe him great gratitude for giving them opportunity to grow in Kerala with the large amount of hatred he generated in the minds of common people of Kerala by his ruthless way of ruling

But there are politicians who talk high about him.I think their yard sticks are different

Even his children generate only hatred in the minds of people by their words and deeds.

Poor souls of Eachara Varier,his wife and mother of that innocent Engineering College Student Rajan and soul of Rajan must be heaving a sigh of relief today.

Even after thirty years of his brutal killing his murderers are continuing their devilish laugh and the so called “servants of our nation”(politicians ) join the wild laugh with utter contempt they have for the people of this largest democracy in the world!

Is a plan enough for building house?

From the mails I receive I get a feeling that lot of people have too many wrong ideas about plan of house.Most important wrong ideas are the following

1.Any plan prepared by any one or taken from any website is good enough for plan of your house

2.There is no meaning in paying a higher fees or charges for getting plan of the house prepared by a well known Architect

3.If the plan of the house is ready, builder of the house can manage everything else.No more need for a professional Architect/Engineer.

4.An Architect can make good elevation of the house for any plan

5.If a picture of the house taken from anywhere is given to an Architect,he can make a similar or same Elevation whatever may be plan of your house.

All these are wrong.

A qualified and experienced Architect will have to discuss in detail with you to understand what exactly you need in the house to be designed and built.

He has to see the land where the building has to come up.By seeing the land,he will visualise your house in the plot,check nature of land,surroundings,level of land,Vasthu aspects if he is good at Vasthu also.He will also check up whether there is any restraining factors for building a house as per Kerala Building rules.

While preparing plan for your house knowledge of Architect and his rich experience is used to design the house to get following:

1.Better facilities for you as per your wishes but with lesser cost

2.Better utilisation of every built up space.No unnecessary or unwanted space in the house.

3.Better features of modern architecture and Kerala Architecture if he is well versed with Kerala Architecture.

Travails of traveling in Kerala

My professional work of designing and building houses all over Kerala including acting as Vasthu and Structural consultant make me travel at least three days in a week that too not less than 200Km in a day.Some days it goes up to 400 Km and more.
Traveling even by car in Kerala is not a pleasurable activity if you discount beautiful nature that can be seen on the way.I will talk of traveling to different areas or zones of Kerala landscape.
1.High ranges of Kerala
About six years back,when I was called as consultant for a house to be designed and built at Nedumkandam I was reluctant mainly due to difficulty in traveling up and down in a single day as I have to be back in Cochin for the next day work.Roads to Nedumkandam are basically hair pin turns moving up the hills or down the hills when you come back.We used to leave Cochin at 4.30 in the morning.Finding a restaurant on the way for breakfast is a tough proposition as there is very few decent eatable places on the way.Some where near Cheruthoni we have located a not so bad place .This small restaurant will give Idiyappam with vegetable stew of almost acceptable version.So we used to frequent this place always on our trips.When we go by Karimban there was another not so good place.But we will have no other option.

Looking out while travelling will make you feel proud of natural beauty of Kerala with hills and valleys coming in procession with water springs abundant coming out from the greenery occasionally.Near Idukki dam I have once taken picture of water falls which is the best on the way.
In monsoon period you can see trees falling on to the road some times obstructing part of road.I was told that buses and trucks plying in this road carries tools to cut trees fallen to road as at times these fallen trees will block the road.Some places you can see water gushing out from the higher level through road and falling down to lower level by flowing above road.
In the mornings mist will be embracing nature around with very little visibility left at a distance.Now look at pictures.

That concrete wall is that of Idukky Hydro Electric power station catchment area.See this water fall and surrounding areas.While you move in the road,road is becoming like an intruder in the tranquil beauty of the nature.

2.Paddy fields of Kerala
Some may wonder whether Kerala still have paddy fields.Keralites do not want to do any manual labour these days.We depend on Tamilians and north Indians coming to Kerala for work.Without them careless Keralites who get gulf money and abundant money by cultivating rubber which has price going high always,cannot simply live.With money coming without hard work or toiling in sun, drinking alcohol is becoming a usual time pass for many especially in the middle Kerala areas.While passing through Kuravilangad,Pala area,I have seen many people drunk even at mid day.Look at pictures from middleKerala areas with rare paddy fields in Kuttanad and Palghat areas.

Kerala roads will test the patience of the traveller as you get dust gushing into your face while driving down the road.Potholes are quite normal.If you find good road like the one you see from Alleppey to Changanassery made by Pathibel and that between Muvattupuzha and Thodupuzha you will get surprised.

Most of the middle Kerala regions,you will find it difficult to locate a reasonably good eating place.Everywhere you have bars as if it is the essential requirement for a traveller.As I keep travelling in the same road again and again I have made a survey and located reasonably good eating places on the way.I plan trip in such a manner to be nearer to a good eating place at meal time.

Rivers and lakes of Kerala make the middle portion attractive and you have good beaches in coastal area and close to rivers you will find most of them are polluted heavily with industrial and other wastes.It appears that industries in Kerala and people in Kerala consider rivers to be dumping place for waste.Some of these waste lines from industries are placed so deep that no body will notice its presence.I think pollution control people must be making money by collecting bribe from industry people to close their eyes by allowing such dangerous waste dumping in rivers.Bribe is no more a sin.It is the right of a government official or those in power.
You can see in pictures above a crude method of ferrying people and vehicle through passages between two small towns separated by river or lake.Two country boats will be tied together and connected to a motorized boat to ferry people and vehicles.We call this Junkar service.Why don’t the authorities think of putting up bridges in these locations instead of people and vehicles to wait for hours for this risky ferry arrangement.Recently I have waited for one and a half hours to get my turn for getting into ferry Junkar from Cherthala to Vaikom on my way to Ettumanoor site.

Criminals gaining respectability

I was rather shocked to see in the days just passed when a criminal wanted for anti national and cold blooded murder of innocents was treated with utmost respect and Kerala rulers seeking his permission to arrest him.Police was made to wait for days together when the wanted criminal might have been negotiating with rulers of the land to find out an escape route for him with their assistance and guidance.If such a course of action is possible for criminals with support from political leadership,what can be the fate of our democracy and democratic and constitutional institutions?

Our forefathers who have sacrificed their lives for freedom of India must have turned restless and angry in their graves when they saw that money power can buy anything in our country.Nobody bothers about source of that money.As long as you have ill gotten or otherwise money in plenty you can buy rulers,political leadership,officials,lawyers of the highest caliber and experience and may be any one who can take decisions.

Patriotism and refusing favours given for illegal actions have become extremely old fashioned.All political leaders cry that this man was in jail for 9 years and finally let off free.Our judicial system allows culprits to escape as it is based on the assumption that even if guilty are not punished,suspected guilty should be let free.Just because this man was let out in the earlier case,does it bring back to life 58 innocents torched to death in the bomb blast?Have they killed themselves bringing bombs and blasting it at a place? Who killed them? If nobody was punished does it mean that heinous act of killing was not a crime?

I do not understand why such a person should be given all these extra importance and reverence.Once let off from a crime,any criminal will try to repeat the crime this time with more precautions to escape punishment.What if he has the law enforcing authority willing to do anything to hide and save him come what may?

This is exactly what is happening in Kerala.Both opposition and ruling party is contesting each other to give extra care , protection and chances to escape punishment to those who arrange killings and anti national activities.All they need is money and votes in election.For that they will do anything.I hope at least Karnataka will have more honest police officials ,politicians and other judicial services

Futile Dialogues with Pakistan

There were lot of headline news about dialogue between Pakistan and India and funny talks of trying one up man ship by both parties using verbal exercises.

I wonder why they conduct such meaningless dialogues once in a while.Do rulers here in India and Pakistan know that these exercises are futile? Over the last sixty years of existence of Pakistan common people living in India and Pakistan has suffered a lot.Many wars.Continuous attempts of Pakistan to thwart normal life in Kashmir.Continuous terrorist attacks in Kashmir killing innocent people.India spending nearly 1.5 lakh crores of rupees every year in defense spending .Pakistan people living with bomb blasts and very pathetic life with no hope of development of any nature.Terrorist outfits in many parts of India by Muslims aided and abetted by Pakistan.Why all these? Who get benefitted by these continuous killings and terrorist activities?

In Kerala these terrorist outfits have converted themselves as political parties and by bribing heavily leaders of front line political parties and police machinery,they manage to escape after doing any heinous crimes.Even the media propagate their cause describing them as innocents even after doing crimes and escaping punishment by law using money power.
Our media and political leaders are ready to allow any anti national anti people activities and secretly support them if they are paid well.

What is the beginning of all these ant national anti people activities? Division of India in 1947 and formation of Pakistan.Has any common man living in India or Pakistan benefitted by this partition? No.It has given them only deaths, pain and loss of money continuously for the last sixty three years and for all coming years it will give only death,pain and losses only.

Dominic Lapiere and Larry Collins in their book “Freedom at Midnight” have squarely put blame on one man and his greed for power for the creation of Pakistan-Nehru.He wanted to be first premier of India at any cost.He was not bothered about train full people getting killed by rioting following the division.He was not bothered about people forced to flee Pakistan trying to save their life leaving everything they owned at places they were born and lived all their life and getting killed on their journey to safety.

Jinnah was not insistent on creation of Pakistan.He wanted to live his last days in the house he built”brick by brick” at Mumbai.But he could not even see it in his days after partition.Gandhi kept quiet.He did not even think of using his oft repeated weapon of “fast unto death” to prevent creation of Pakistan.May be had a soft corner for Nehru.And look at what Nehru did.He ridiculed and insulted lakhs of people who sacrificed their life for independence of India from British by installing his family rule instead of democracy In India.Due to this family rule ,we had to suffer ill educated incompetent rulers like Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi .Today a highly competent Dr.Manmohan Singh rules India not on his own but as a proxy of an Italian nobody,thanks to power of family rule .We are sure to be driven to be ruled by a highly incompetent son of that Italian woman in the near future.

Coming back to Indo Pak talks,I can only find only one reason for such meaningless talks-Rulers of both country trying to mislead people that they are trying for peaceful coexistence aiming at welfare and peace of common man.It is only a gimmick to fool common man in both countries cheating them by giving false hopes.These rulers who do not have slightest concern for the common man are giving them hopes ,only thing they can give to hide their incompetence and lack of patriotic sincerity.

Turning against judiciary,church and everyone else

I was rather shocked to see an almost illiterate leader of the so called party which talk as if they work to protect interests of the proletariat and in reality work for themselves shouting abuses against Judges of High court of Kerala.

Next day other similar leaders of the red who take pride in abusing courts,church leaders or any one whom society give respect,started making chorus of abuses against judges.What if such abuses are made against constitutional institutions by them when they happen to be in the powerful ruling party?

I was amused to note that for initiating contempt of court proceedings prior permission of Advocate General who is an appointee of the ruling party will have to be obtained.Naturally he will deny any such permission and the red leaders small and big can continue to abuse anyone with choicest language without any fear of action against them.

We common people feel jittery when the last resort of justice for some one without political backing and money power is being treated like this with complete impunity.What if such safeguard mechanisms are thrown away by these barbarians? All powerful one man high command of the brigade has publically proclaimed that his underdogs are shouting with impunity and they can go on doing it.

I will not be surprised if Judges are stopped and abused in the road by these hooligans with police and power in their hand.Police may pretend not seeing such violent acts against basic infrastructure of our democratic system.In the light of these verbal abuses and militant processions in the road,I only hope that common people will use at least the only weapon they get once in five years to throw them away from power and never allow them to talk and act in this uncivilised manner.

Fuel price hike-War against people

Common man in this country which is supposed to be having a democratically elected government “for the people,by the people” is helpless.Whatever these rulers of the country (who call themselves as servants of people but in reality looters of the country)do ,common man will have to suffer as none of them are not even bothered about common people of this country.Whether you rise price of petroleum products to any level and whether inflation goes so high to make our currency a valueless paper,these rulers are not affected.They get money in tones by looting the country and all their personal needs and comforts are taken care of fully by the state machinery.This is true whether the party ruling has a khadi uniform or saffron uniform or a red blood colour uniform.None of them are bothered about the people or even the economic health of the country.

The other day I was talking to an old friend of mine who has just recently retired as CMD of a large public sector undertaking of Kerala.I met him at the corporate office of a private sector company possibly for discussions to get an assignment in that company at a senior level. I asked him-“Why you did not try to get an extension or a posting in any other public sector undertaking?”His answer was not surprising to me.

“The central minister in charge is extremely corrupt.How long I can sign on the dotted lines sanctioning or abetting his looting?” I know my friend to be an upright honest man.In an earlier occasion when a high ranking person from Delhi representing a Dutch MNC contacted me for assistance to approach this man for a murky deal,I have straight away refused without even contacting my friend knowing his integrity and honesty.
Funniest part of the story is that this particular central minister is not even considered as corrupt by the media who are eager to get any such story.Gone are the days when corrupt deals of few crores like Bofors get headlines in news.Now they loot in lakhs of crores and still nobody bothers.Can you imagine these crooks ruling the country taking interest in lives of you and me?They are not bothered even if diesel price is made double and one tea or coffee price reaches Rs.100 or more.

Look at price structure of petroleum products.Almost 50% of the cost is taxes and duties.When you pay Rs.41 for a liter of diesel,price which the oil company gets is only Rs.20/-This price of Rs.20 itself has got in it inputs of import duty on crude oil and uncontrolled heavy overhead expenses of public sector oil companies merry making without any competition.More than 25% of the crude oil is indigenously manufactured and it does not have any price to be paid or import duty.Who bothers about all these?

When Kerala ruling party declares yet another Harthal threatening people with dire consequences if they move out on daily chores from their houses as a protest against petroleum price hike,I wonder why they are not even thinking of reducing 25% local tax on price of diesel if they have even the slightest concern for the poor helpless people of this country run by political crooks including them?

They will not reduce taxes and will consider petroleum products as the easiest route to amass maximum tax revenue knowing very well that common man will have to buy it whatever may be the cost.

There are few people who try and become VIPs on their own.They manage money somehow.As long as you have money power nobody bothers to ask you how you got it.Once you have enough money amassed,then you need political power.What better way than forming a political party? If you have money ,you can get people to shout for you,and very recently two people even pretended to do suicide for the “great leader unable to hear possibility of him getting arrested.” Luckily they got what they wanted(media coverage) and they escaped unhurt in the attempt to self immolate them for fear of their” undisputed leader getting arrested”!

Look at what all the great achievements of this great leader.More than 55 innocent people killed in bomb blast at Coimbatore are forgotten by every one.Nobody is punished for the great crime for “lack of evidence”.Our judicial system has got the basic principle that it simply do not bother if a culprit of heinous crimes is left out.Funniest part of the story is that the culprit start talking as if the bomb blast has taken place without anybody doing anything for it.Probably those people died in bomb blast are punished by God for their sins without any of the great “leaders” doing anything for it.

After escaping jail,the accused is treated as a saint.Great Pinaray talks as if he is innocence in human form.One more Kalamassery bus torching and now Bangalore bomb blast.With the help of money power and political power that follows he is still eloquently talking as if he is innocent.Probably he will again manage to obtain no evidence for this case also.One more bomb blast and several innocent people die.But who cares for them? people behind such anti national activities are acclaimed as innocent VIPs!There is not a single political or otherwise leader in Kerala willing to call a spade a spade.Those dead in bomb blasts are simply forgotten.They have no money power or political power

Do Congress in Kerala need Murali or Karunakaran?

When I hear all the big talk about Murali trying to enter back into Congress by hook or crook,I cannot help wondering whether Congress party in Kerala need Murali or for that matter his father,Karunakaran about whom I have nothing good to remember about.All that I could remember about his days in power is that he is corrupt,ruthless ,unmindful about what people may think of his actions and highly unpopular.Still he thought he has several supporters.That is precisely why he left Congress with his son and formed a party whose name may not be even remembered by anyone-DIC.
After forming his own party Karunakaran and Murali realised for the first time that people of Kerala do not simply care a damn about them and they would prefer to forget them in the dustbin of history.So,they tried to fight back their entry into Congress for fear of loosing their right to rule poor helpless people of Kerala .Then Karunakaran some how managed to get back to Congress party due to acute low level of intelligence by whoever take decisions for that party.One of my clients commented to me-“Some body who does not want Congress to do well has purposefully allowed this old man inside to create problems for the party.”
In my opinion CPIM ,the main party opposing Congress in Kerala owes a lot to Karunakaran.They have cashed heavily on the hatred of common man of this state to Karunakaran and his clan.Probably they will be quite happy to see both Karunakaran and Murali inside Congress so that both Father and son will make their job very easy.When I hear people like V.M Sudheeran and Minister Mullappally Ramachandran supporting Murali entry into Congress I cannot help suspecting their intelligence or loyalty to the party.Probably they must be having some hidden agenda.Who knows what is inside minds of these politicians!
I am sure Murali will get back entry into Congress.Possibly A.K.Antony himself will help him.If you ask me why,even I do not know the answer.But politicians are much more intelligent than we ordinary people and our intelligence level is not good enough to understand their actions.So with Murali and Karunakaran inside and Congress unnecessarily lamenting on entry of P J Joseph to UDF,Pinaray Vijayan can smile again and continue to make arrogant comments about any one living in this state.If at all UDF come back to power there should be some one to get Pinaray Vijayan back into power after five years.That job Murali will do well for Pinaray.You might ask why I am not referring to VS.All of us know that he is only a toy in the hands of great Pinaray, crying when he presses the toy.He will be happy and content to sit in that chair till the last day allowed by constitution.Keeping his eyes,ears and mouth shut is a lesser price to pay for that.

Kerala Congress drama

I do not know why and how Kerala Congress came into existence in Kerala Politics.When I become old enough to understand politics even a little bit,there was only one Kerala Congress.Both Christians especially Syrian Catholics and a few Nair community people were enthusiastic about Kerala Congress.K.M.Mani who used to be the patriarch of the party used to be so considerate of his fellow Syrian Catholics that he will do anything and everything in his capability when some one from the community approached him for favors whether for justifiable or non justifiable reasons.Syrian Catholic clergy also used to be favoured like this.

When I got unreasonably framed by vested interests in a case,during my college days all efforts of me and my fellow students to get justice failed when we approached all other politicians probably because doing favours to college students did not give them any political or financial gains.But K.M .Mani helped us to get out of the imbroglio as Minister then.When my younger brother wanted admission for PG Course in a Christian management college in management quota, his letter could settle the matter.Such small helps is exactly what common man expect from a political leader and for obtaining such favours he gives in return political loyalty to the leader concerned.

When P.J.Joseph parted company with K.M.Mani I could not find any justifiable reason for the parting of ways except may be personal ego clash between them.Apart from giving small favours to followers both K.M.Mani and P.J.Joseph has done nothing for the development of Kerala state.Both Balakrishnana Pillai and T.M.Jacob who parted company with K.M. Mani and started own political outfits also did not have any reason for parting of ways other than personal ego clash.So there was never any credible reason for existence of several “Kerala Congress” parties.Kerala State has in no way benefitted by these so many number of “Kerala Congress” with several different initials in the brackets.So What if they join together and become one Kerala Congress? Nothing good or bad will happen to Kerala state and people of this state.Unlike DMK and AIADMK in Tamil Nadu.all outfits of Kerala Congress is not bothered about development of the State.Probably they are very much interested in personal developments and that must be the reason for continuous divisions enabling every leader to become Minister and thus do what every one expect a minister to do-Fill his coffers by hook or crook.

Leaving LDF and joining UDF does not mean anything other than changing name of the team in which they play games to make money.Both LDF and UDF compete each other in the art of doing corruption or rather money making which alone happens to be the duty of every Minister.Now this new development of Joseph going to other camp has made Surendran Pillai lucky to become what he was dreaming for years together-become a Minister and reap the harvest even by making the soil infertile forever.

I only hope against hope and wonder when we Keralites will be able to see a politician even slightly interested in improving the lives of ordinary people of this State!

One more Harthal for us

It used to be called as Bandh.Then there was a court order banning Bandh.After all,what is there in a name?.Harthal is the new name for Bandh.We Keralites enjoy Bandh as we have no choice.Only thing we can do against Harthal or Bandh is write like this without any benefit.

Prominent political party of Kerala is called CPI(M).They have a single leader .All others are simply his yes men.Even the All India Boss also listens and obeys him.So he decides to force people of Kerala out of work on the day he decides as Harthal.All his coalition partners can only say yes to him also.On the day of Bandh you should not go to work,you should not travel,you should not move out of the house.Luckily they have not banned sleeping ,eating and drinking at home on the day of Harthal.If you defy these orders you may be attacked physically by the so called “party workers”.You may even be killed!

By conducting such forceful deprivation of all rights guaranteed by Constitution of India to people of this sovereign republic of India what do these people gain?However hard I tried,I could not find any benefit either to those who threaten people to cuddle inside their homes or to any human being living in this state of Kerala.

Crores of rupees will be lost due to stoppage of work and all activities of life.Those who get higher income can simply treat the day as a holiday and enjoy eating and drinking at home.Sale of alcoholic drinks increases invariably on the day before Harthal.People who do manual work and earn daily wages will lose one day wage.

Marriages will have to be postponed.Those who need medical attention may not be able to be hospitalised.But these political beings do not bother.After threatening and forcing people to remain indoors at home,next day these people will make statement like this-“Entire people of the state has supported us by willingly joining in Harthal and doing nothing outside their houses”

What did these Harthal lovers gain? What did people of Kerala gain?Such barbaric customs should not be allowed to continue in this country.But the majority of helpless people cannot do anything else other than fearing these anti social elements and shutting themselves inside closed doors of their homes on the day of Harthal.Our next Harthal is on 27,April,2010.Please do not come to Kerala on that day.You may have to sleep at airports or railway stations without food and drinks.

Against a proper road for Kerala

I keep travelling up and down all over Kerala as my work demand it(visiting work sites of house construction and visiting possible house construction sites for design as well as consultation.)
From Trichur to Cochin now roads are coming some what nicely with four lanes and in some places with additional small roads on either sides for local slow vehicles to go.Up to Cherthala from Cochin this four lane of roads go well.Once you touch Cherthala,four lane become two lanes causing continuous road accidents and deaths near Cherthala Railway station.
But once you cross Cherthala and when you reach Alleppey you have to travel through narrow roads inside the town and as a long distance traveler you will feel frustrated when you have to find your way through traffic blocks and slow movements.Situation gets worse or practically same when you have to pass through Kollam.

I keep wondering why nobody has bothered about making possible at least a clear four lane traffic from northern part of Kerala to south end of Kerala which is the capital of this tiny state.Situation is worse when you have to pass through northern Malabar area as it is an area permanently forgotten from all project books of development.
At some time back when Dr.Muneer was Minister of Public works in UDF government,there was talk about an Express High way giving at least hope for thought that at least one day you can travel hassle free without wasting time and money from one end of Kerala to other.But all those so called revolutionary politicians fought with each other to provide his utter contempt for this “foolish” idea of making travel less time consuming less troublesome and less costly.So in spite of his best efforts Dr.Muneer has to eat his words and he was dumped as “anti progressive”
Now both opposition and ruling politicians of Kerala has sat together and decided that people of Kerala does not need this four lane or six lane roads because they consider disturbing shops and establishments near both sides of existing road as dangerous. All these years we travelled through these narrow roads with utter chaos,confusion,road blocks,traffic blocks and travelling in four lane or six lane roads will be simply boring for us Keralites.So a delegation of all party representatives is going to meet Dr.Manmohan Singh to give him enlightenment on the great wisdom of Keralites.

Are we moving forward or back ward?In my opinion,present National High way has to be widened and there has to be an Express way newly made going through present undeveloped and under developed areas of Kerala villages so that high speed commodity carrying vehicles can go through that Express high way saving time and money.But who will listen to it and we deserve curse of next generations for continuously pulling down Kerala from development.

Rise and fall of Dr.Sashi Tharoor

I have heard about him earlier as an Indian origin English writer.All that Indian in him possibly was that his parents were Indian.He has spent almost three decades of his career outside India with practically nothing to do with India.
India is such a complex country with different languages,cultures,faiths and so much differences but still with some sort of bond that unites every one in spite of all differences.A person born and brought up in India will naturally find it difficult to understand the diversities and complexities of India.Then how can Dr.Tharoor who lived all of his career life outside India,can understand India?
Possibly due to better personal connections or rapport with people who matter at the top echelons of Congress party he got a seat to contest parliament elections from capital of Kerala,Trivandrum after failing in his attempt to become UN Secretary General.
People in general have so much hatred for politicians of all hue and cry.Naturally Dr.Tharoor who looked new and clean in the political spectrum got elected from Trivandrum as member of Parliament not withstanding propaganda that he does not even know Malayalam the language of Kerala properly,which is true.
With the right connections at Delhi,he could become a Minister at Central government that too with a portfolio which allowed him to do what he was so familiar doing in all those years in U.N-globe trotting.He was enjoying it thoroughly without bothering much about what he can do for the people of Kerala,whom he might have simply forgotten having became a Member of Parliament in spite of all odds against him.
About a month back I met him in a function conducted by Kerala Management Association.What I could notice is that he talked well in English and he talked fast without bothering much about what all he was talking possibly correcting mistakes with a smile.An Indian politician need to learn to talk carefully weighing each words properly before uttering it.But Dr.Tharoor did not bother about it.Naturally it landed him in many controversies.Luckily he could escape all those through Dr.Manmohan Singh who described comments of Dr.Tharoor as mere jokes.
But when it came to dangling with cash rich IPL cricket ,I could not help suspecting why a so called close friend of Dr.Tharoor has to be there in the deal.So far nobody has explained about the great work she did for IPL Kochi.And why she alone could do such a work which called for free “sweat equity”?
Naturally we poor people at the bottom level without any hope of any political dream wonder what Dr.Tharoor did for IPL,Kochi with the help of his “close friend”
And in the one year of his minister ship at Delhi what did Dr.Tharoor do differently compared to all those not so intelligent educated,capable ministers?
So there cannot be anyone shedding a tear for this fall of Dr.Tharoor from among the ordinary people of Kerala

I have only heard about days when lower caste people will have to bow before upper caste land lords and work hard for the pittance the land lord may give.Land lord will enjoy life like anything and all the toil and hardship are destined to be the right of lower caste people.

Today there is actually no lower castes.Every one get equal opportunity to come up in life and the so called lower caste people get preferential treatment in admission to educational institutions and for jobs simply because their forefathers have struggled in their life.In fact upper caste people are the present day down trodden.

But look at Malayalam film industry.Capability has no place there.So called super stars even after crossing age of 60 continue to act as lovers to many teenage girls,crush every able bodied strong men with their difficult to move body movements and decide who should act in films.So whoever want to be in business should be willing to bow before them and do anything and everything to please them.

They can get position of Lieutenant Colonel in Indian Army possibly through a a phone call.Padmasree title is given based on recommendations of political leadership.So there is no wonder they got it.A phone call to a political leader can give them Doctorate from Kerala Universities whatever may be their eligibility for it.In short they have made all these honors and titles meaningless by amassing them as they liked and they laugh at ordinary citizens of this country with utter contempt.

An actor of the caliber of Thilakan does not need their certificate.But still they want him to bow before them.He was courageous enough to refuse to bow before Film world gods like them.So he is not only out of Malayalam films for ever,but also from a Hollywood film which they could never ever dream of considering their pathetic capabilities.They buy unemployed youth to sing hosanna to them when their ever repeated one story films start screening,in the name of fans association.

I have decided not to see films acted by these crooks pretending to be anything and everything.I hope the ever intelligent malayalee will eventually show them the place they really deserve instead of all these purchased doctorates,Padmasree etc-the dustbin of history.

Film Pazhassi Raja and related thoughts

Whatever may be merits or defects of the film,it brought to my mind an old fashioned idea which people living in our country are quite unfamiliar with.Love and loyalty to one’s country.You can see characters after characters simply facing death valiantly not out of compulsion but being proud enough to sacrifice life for the sake of country.

Who will be willing to die like that in these days? Even those who join military do so attracted by rewards of the job and war which is practically not there unlike in olden days of rule of rajas when you are forced to fight for the country and almost sure of getting killed in war which was very common those days.

In fact looting the country has become almost a heroic act as we do not bother to put them behind bars or kill them for their evil acts.Instead we look upon the likes of Pinaray Vijayan and Karunakaran with envy and adoration having looted country as they liked and still being rulers or decision makers of this country.

Look at the VIP treatment being given to Madani and Soofiya Madani.In spite of having evidences about their treacherous acts against the country which resulted in death for several innocent people,they are being given VIP status and all evidences are either destroyed or hidden under the carpet.Naturally courts of country which believes in punishing guilty only after giving all advantages of doubt,free them from all cases as their paid followers act as prosecutors.

I only wonder what would have Pazhassi Raja and all those patriotic men who died for the country will do if they are allowed to come to our world even for a day.

Who is bothered about patriotism?

Politicians earning contempt of people

I remember feeling disgusted about the way K.Karunakaran had ruled the state of Kerala with scant regard for people of Kerala considering himself to be like an autocrat having powers to kill and do anything to anybody without anyone to raise voice against him.At that time writer Sukumar Azhikkode used to criticise Karunakaran and his arrogant ways and thus he earned entry into good books of left parties by being always critical of Karunakaran and his family members and cronies.In fact Karunakran by his arrogant ways of ruling this tiny state has earned more sympathisers to Left movement in Kerala and left parties I think are ever grateful to Karunakaran for that.
Son of Karunakran Murali is not far behind him.He has gone one step ahead of Karunakran.He lavishly abused all those who were against him in Congress party and visual media has transmitted these verbal abuses to living rooms of all houses in Kerala.Thus without even ruling Kerala like his father he earned a place of hatred in the minds of all Keralites.His sister Padmaja is not far behind in arrogance and treating others as her slaves with the least respect for others living in this state.Together they have a heavy deposit of hatred in the minds of Keralites.
When Karunakaran and Murali left Congress,I was hoping against hope that Congress party in Kerala will look like a decent political party.But some one in Congress did not like the party to have a respectful position in the minds of people of Kerala especially when Communist party has acquired a person capable of creating hatred to anyone heard of him-Pinaray Vijayan.His arrogant utterances earned him a hatred status similar to Karunakaran and Murali and made CPIM a party to run away from.
Some one interested in tarnishing and damaging Congress party in Kerala,allowed Karunakran entry back to Congress.Being 92 year old,he finds it difficult to create hatred wave similar to earlier days and to fill up that gap he wants desperately Murali to come back to Congress so that CPIM can get back their earlier status in society as Murali is sure to malign Congress party to the maximum extent possible.
Recently when I heard Karunakaran in critical stages I thought all those he managed to get killed including Engineering student in 70s Rajan can hope to shake hand with him in the other world.But even death is afraid of him.

Political values,given silent burial

For long long years I used to believe that leftists are different from political parties like Congress and BJP who give only lip service to values and principles.Like me many non political persons who has no hardened attachment to any political parties used to give an allowance to left parties thinking that they are different and have some values to uphold.

But look at what happened in the recent past.

They were supporting Congress rule at centre saying that they are doing so to prevent” communal forces coming into power”.I wonder what is so much communal about BJP and like minded parties?

When the Babri Masjid was demolished in presence of BJP leaders like Advani and Murali Manohar Joshy,BJP was not in power at centre.Congress Prime Minister Narasimha Rao who was famous for solving problems by not doing anything about problems simply kept quiet thinking that demolition of Babri Masjid will solve that problem of Masjid mandir for ever.

In a way he was right.For years after that that issue is being pushed into forgotten issues and BJP only make some noise about it only when elections are announced and naturally after elections even if they win,the issue is forgotten.Even during years of central rule by BJP headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee,BJP did nothing about construction of Mandir at Ram janma bhoomi.

BJP during its rule has not done anything communal.Then why these leftists and others try to “protect us from communal forces even at the cost of supporting bourgeoisie imperialistic party like Congress”

Most probably leftists reason to support Congress in power must be something else beneficial to them rather than their anxiety to protect we poor people of the country from”communal forces”

And why they have withdrawn support to Congress rule?The real reason to withdraw support,they will never tell all of us who are supposed to be the master they try hard to serve.Probably they must have discussed the real reason in the closed door polit buro meetings.

They were saying that India will become a colony of USA just like in the earlier days we were a colony of British empire if India signs nuclear deal.Nuclear deal is simply a commercial deal to buy raw materials from wherever it is available in the world for trouble free running of our atomic power plants is something which leftists never wanted common man in this country to know or understand.

After the nuclear deal is signed so many days,months and years have gone and now they seem to have forgotten about the matter and we are unfortunately not able to see Americans ruling us even after signing of nuclear deal as predicted by them.

When the Kerala state secretary of CPIM was caught in multi crore looting in SNC Lavlin case,these “value based'” politicians thought better to defend him without any shame as they have divided loot between them.Funniest part of the story is that after electoral defeat they sit again in their Polit buro meeting to expel only man courageous enough to question looting by party secretary so that they will have peace and happiness whenever they meet again in the Polit buro tamasha.

And then comes Polit buro and central committee meetings to “correct mistakes”.How can they correct mistakes without throwing away Pinaray and Karat who symbolises all mistakes?Instead they will probably catch local committee secretaries taking small bribes for their living or extra income to enjoy life better.They will probably talk very bad about peons in offices who take Rs.50/- or Rs.100/- bribes as anti social elements.

Now Kannur by election comes and we hear stories or happenings which were never even imagined possible.To win election,this value based party is bringing people of their choice from outside constituency and illegally include their names in voters list with the help of hand picked yes men working in govt machinery including district collector.Houses locked and dilapidated have suddenly occupants as per new voters list.Without even owner of house knowing people seems to be staying in their buildings!

Do these crooks think that they can go on cheating people of Kerala with lies and pretensions?

Kerala life turning out highly insecure

Communists ruling Kerala is throwing away all sense of security feeling for poor ordinary people living in this beautiful state of India.

Unquestioned leader of the party,Pinaray Vijayan who acts and talk like a dictator with scant regard for the people or law of land sends out nothing but fear in the minds of hapless people of Kerala whenever he opens his mouth.His close aides like three Jayarajans also talk like him .None of them are least bothered about laws of the land or minimum decency expected from the people in public life.

Pinaray and his team accused of looting 374 crores in one single deal which alone has come out in the open has done everything possible to defeat prosecution and is still confident of getting out triumphant laughing at all those who tried to make him face prosecution for the blatant looting.

Even the Chief Justice of India has commented adversely on the draconian rule purposely put in place in Indian penal code by unscrupulous politicians preventing prosecution of rulers of the country practically without their consent.

Look at what has happened in SNC Lavlin looting case.

Only after 16 long years due to continuous fighting by a non politician like T.P.Nandakumar,allegation of corruption was investigated by CBI under close supervision by high court of Kerala.

If a case has to be registered against Pinaray Vijayan people he appointed as ministers and who remain as ministers only as long as he pleases have to give consent for prosecution.

Naturally they refused action against Pinaray

Then Governor of Kerala who happened to be in the opposite political camp rejected reccommendation of ministry of Kerala to let Pinaray Vijayan go scot free whatever may be the extent of looting or evidences against him obtained by CBI through years of investigation.

With all official documents supposed to be confidential ,Pinaray Vijayan who happens to be an out of constitutional person approached Supreme Court of country with highest paid lawyer for him and another equally high profile lawyer to support him in the name of State Of Kerala to protect and save him from prosecution.

If all these are not sufficient for an ordinary citizen like me to loose faith in the system of governance of the country look at what happened to a very rich highly influential youth from Muthoot family.

He was killed brutually on the way side at midnight

Police simply tried to charge some one totally unrelated for the murder.

A film actress known to everyone present in the vehicle at the time of murder not even questioned by police.

Lots of cash present in the vehicle disappeared.Police did not bother to enquire into this.

People who are likely to be murderers were allowed to escape and finally caught as per a game plan to be let out only as witness.
Police making knife through a blacksmith to prove that alleged accussed are behind the murder.Post martom report was tampered using the influence and muscle power of ruling party.

Family of killed Paul.M.George keep quiet inspite of all these due to reasons known only to them and probably due to pressure from the powerful minister of internal security who happens to be a close confident of Pinaray Vijayan

With all these going on can an ordinary person living in this state without support of Pinaray and company feel secure?

Honesty and principles have they disappeared from our public life?

After hearing and reading news in media these days I simply wonder at times whether honesty and principles have become something to be practiced by fools in our state of Kerala. Respected principled leaders of left parties continuously tell without any hesitation simple lies to protect their greatest leader Pinaray Vijayan
Whatever may be the accusations against him, CBI enquiry should be prevented at any cost. It is only an attempt to destroy left movement instigated by America. For preventing that expert lawyers from Delhi can be brought using tax payer’s money. Advocate General has to give advice against prosecution of Pinaray Vijayan. Ministry cannot and should not give sanction to prosecute our beloved leader. If Governor act against this crude attempts to protect greatest looter of state of Kerala then he has to be condemned. If Chief Minister did not tell lies like other ministers in support of Pinaray Vijayan then he should be expelled from this great party
Earlier at least I had a faint thinking that unlike K.Karunakaran, R.Balakrishna Pillai, T.M Jacob etc these left leaders had some principles. But this lavlin issue has shown how unashamedly they are protecting a looter and trying desperately to prevent any investigation on the deal only because of the fact that they know very well that their beloved leader is a crook and looter of public money. It is high time they changed name of their party as Looters Party of India. Probably they can keep that Marxist Leninist brackets. They use these names to justify their wrong doings lootings and continuous chorus repeating of utter falsehood thinking that common man will believe these falsehoods as truth.

Withering away of Communism

Communism and socialism were political ideologies promising equal status, opportunities and equal distribution of wealth of the country. In a society with several inequalities mostly in the name of religion, caste and protective arrangements, laws and traditional values for privileged few in the society, these equality theories and political thoughts have attracted several young people over the years. Some of them felt so strong about these utopian ideologies that they were even willing to sacrifice their own lives in the hope that future generations will have a just equitable society
Basically human beings are selfish and they have a highly possessive attitude for everything, be it property, family, relatives, extended family and people of same caste, village or same religion. This possessive nature of human being has helped people to work hard to amass wealth so that his or her next generation will live in prosperity. Communism tried to work against these basic human instincts of private property, possessiveness and has failed all over the world. Today even erstwhile Russia and China have embraced capitalism which promotes free enterprise and persuade any one to work hard for him, his family and his people. Capitalism being something natural to human nature, it is quite natural that it has become universally accepted economic system of life
Democracy and right of people to choose and reject those who rule them as their representatives have set in motion social justice actions from democratically elected rulers of the country. These social justice actions have resulted in reducing social inequities and have also speeded up social welfare measures for the downtrodden and less privileged sections of society. This again reduced significance of movements like communism and socialism
Leaders of so called communist movements have over a period of time become selfish opportunists trying to amass wealth for them through legal or illegal means. Democratic elections have given them political power in countries like India. First Communist ministry in Kerala and few successive communist governments headed by people like E.M.Sankaran Namboothiripad, C.Achutha Menon, and E.K.Nayanar have tried to bring social justice through legal reforms. Basically these leaders were selfless people who cannot be corrupted by lure of money. But when Pinaray Vijayan became the leader of Communist party in Kerala, all pretentions of idealism is thrown to winds. Looting money through SNC Lavlin or similar deals which may not have come to the light of the public has become the right thing to do. Threatening people of the state through media and talking in arrogant manner has also become right thing to do.
Funniest part of the story is that even after electoral defeat in the recent Parliament elections, the committee members of Communist party have found that the only credible and honest leader of the party, Chief Minister Achuthanandan is the main reason for electoral defeat of the party! People like Jayarajan who looks and talks like a thevar of Tamil Nadu, a minister who consider using abusive language in media as a routine affair are all supposed to be loved ones of the people of Kerala. If this is the way the ruling party assess the mood of the people of Kerala, the day is not too far when the communist party become only a party of few people comprising secretary and committee members only

Elite citizens protected from laws of land

If you happen to become a minister in any of Indian state governments or central government or even if you are a government employee, during your period of employment or period of being minister you can do any illegal activity. You will never be prosecuted for your crimes.

Our law makers have made such laws that if ex ministers and govt officials do not voluntarily agree to be charge sheeted and proceeded against, nobody can do anything against them whatever may be their crime as they can easily influence ministry in power not to give special sanction to law enforcement agency to proceed against them.Ordinary citizens like you and me can be proceeded against without any specic sanction from Governer of the state or ministry in power

Look at the now infamous Pinaray Vijayan case. Present advocate general has appeared for him to oppose CBI enquiry against SNC lavlin looting case. Somehow court did not show kindness to agree to his escape efforts. After the CBI enquiry, same man was asked to give his opinion whether CBI should proceed against culprits including his present and previous boss. Naturally he did not feel it necessary to proceed against culprits in the case who were govt servants and minister while committing the crime. Now government of Pinaray Vijayan cannot think differently and the case is being dumped due to the silly reason that there are two laws in this country for ordinary citizens and these elite officials and ministers. While being ministers or officials they can do any crime or looting and unless they agree to be proceeded against, law cannot do anything against them

I wonder why UDF leaders who call Harthal only for torturing common man did not think of changing this ridiculous law while being in power at centre for so many years. Why these looters get this ridiculous benefit of sanction from them to proceed against them legally? Why common man in this so called democratic country do not rise to revolt against this unjustifiable discriminatory rule which protects ministers and govt employees for doing any looting or crime?

Law will never catch our politicians

Advocate General of the state of Kerala is a political appointee for the period of the ruling government. He is normally an experienced senior advocate chosen for the post considering his knowledge, experience, loyalty and attachment to the ruling party. His job is mainly to advise government on legal matters and act as head of an army of lawyers to represent govt in court cases. Hence it was not surprising when he delayed legal advice on SNC Lavlin case for more than three months so that Election will be over. After the voting for Election in the state, he again took about one month to give his advice as expected. Nobody can expect him to advice to proceed against his party boss, Pinaray Vijayan whatever he might have done by exercising his legitimate right to loot the country during his period as minister of the state.

Several earlier ministers like K. Karunakaran, R.Balakrishna Pillai, and T.M.Jacob have all escaped being caught and punished for corruption while being in office. If not for doing corruption and amassing wealth why these capable persons come to politics instead of taking up much difficult jobs in their earnest effort to becoming extremely rich

Look at what happened in SNC Lavlin case. It is not Pinaray Vijayan who found SNC Lavlin Company based at Canada to do renovation work for old Electrical power generation houses. It is another minister in opposing camp of UDF who brought SNC Lavlin to Kerala. But the poor fellow lost power by the time he could do anything to make money by playing with SNC Lavlin. So naturally Pinaray Vijayan used the golden opportunity gifted to him by the opposition camp.Trichy based public sector Bharath Heavy Electricals Limited has offered to do the renovation works for those old power generation houses at a meager Rs.100 crores.CPM party committee headed by dead and gone E.Balanandan has recommended to accept offer of BHEL.Then SNC Lavlin has given a counter offer of Rs.347 crores for the same work. Naturally the work has to go to SNC Lavlin as BHEL cannot give any kickbacks being an Indian public sector company. Now I can predict one thing quite confidently even though I am not an astrologer. Pinaray Vijayan will happily have the last laugh just like our old Rajiv Gandhi laughed away Bofors bribe case and even his Italian benami Mr.Quttrochy is now freed by CBI as an innocent.

When you are a politician you can only be an innocent whatever you may do. Opposing CPM ruled state of Kerala when Kunjalikutty of Muslim League was caught in a sex scandal. In spite of their public outcry against each other politicians see to it that people belonging to their tribe ruling or opposition never get caught in any cases of looting or other scandals. So they can do all these laughing loudly with the firm belief that in spite of verbal opposition and outcry to mislead general public, they will help each other to ensure that the holy politicians never get caught for any wrong doing. May be that is why all big criminals try to enter politics to continue their criminal deeds with impunity
